Despite his struggles at Burnley, Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag has enlisted the former Claret for help in the No. 9 position for the rest of the season following the acrimonious departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Although Sky Sports pundit and former midfielder Jamie Redknapp was shocked that Weghorst has joined United, he did however feel he could be a strong addition to help United in the second-half of the campaign.
‘Any centre forward you want them to be a focal point when you have it and when you haven’t you want them to understand the press,’ Redknapp said ahead of his debut.
