Real Madrid’s LaLiga clash at Osasuna on Saturday is in danger of being called off due to forecasts predicting a huge snowfall on the eve of the match.

The El Sadar Stadium in Pamplona, Navarre is set to host the top flight encounter but already the region has been hit by icy weather in the last few days, brought on by Storm Dora.

Osasuna stars were forced to abandon training last weekend while the pitches they were preparing on were cleared of snow.

Zinedine Zidane could see his Real Madrid side have their match at Osasuna postponed

The El Sadar Stadium in Pamplona could be hit by up to 20cm of snow on the eve of the game

According to reports from AS, there could be 15-20cm of snow due to hit the region this weekend, although it is still too early to predict whether the threatened weather front will have an impact on the match taking place.

The snow is predicted to arrive on Friday evening, but models predict it could vary in location by around 100 km which is enough to see the threatened 20cm become either very little or non-existent at all.

Zinedine Zidane’s side will be hoping the game goes ahead as they enter LaLiga fixture in excellent form.

Pamplona has already been hit by snow and  icy weather brought by Storm Dora in recent days

Real Madrid head into the encounter in good form with seven wins from their last eight games

They are unbeaten since the start of December when they lost at Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League, during that time going on an unbeaten run which has seen them win seven of their eight encounters.

That run includes a 2-0 victory over Atletico Madrid who currently lead their city rivals by two points at the top of the table.

However Atletico have two games in hand with Real, and should they win at home to Athletic Bilbao on Saturday they could go five points clear if their rivals’ game is called off.
