Real Madrid are desperately pursuing a Galatico signing in this summer’s transfer window, but have reportedly accepted that Kylian Mbappe is now off the table. Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has stated the club will not sell Mbappe under any circumstances and Real may have to look elsewhere for transfer targets.
Mbappe is about to enter the final 12 months of his contract with the French giants and has been repeatedly linked with a move to Real.
The 22-year-old striker is one of the brightest talents in world football and scored 42 goals in 47 appearances across all competitions for PSG in the 2020/21 season.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is in the market for a statement signing after a disappointing second-place finish in La Liga and has advocated for Mbappe.
However, Al-Khelaifi’s bullish recent interview with L’Equipe appears to have had the desired effect of warning Los Blancos to back off.
“I will be clear, Mbappe is going to stay in Paris,” Al-Khelaifi said.

“We will never sell him and he will never leave on a free (transfer). Mbappe has everything he needs in Paris.
“Where can he go? What club, in terms of ambition, can compete with PSG today?
“All I can say is that things are going well and I hope we can reach an agreement (on a new contract).”
According to AS, the PSG president’s public declaration has seriously dented Real’s hopes of landing the fleet-footed forward.
The report states ‘Perez and the senior executives at the club’s headquarters sent out a message of resignation’ after the interview surfaced on Monday.

If they couldn’t convince Mbappe to leave PSG in this summer’s transfer window, which opens on Wednesday for 12 weeks, then Real hoped to swoop next summer when Mbappe would be available to move as a free agent.
However, PSG’s financial strength is a problem for cash-strapped Real, who simply cannot compete with the French club’s Qatari owners.
AS therefore report that Real are ‘resigned to the fact that it will not be possible to make their dream signing this summer’.
The France striker has reportedly been offered a gross annual salary of around £68million (€80m) to commit his future to PSG.
The French club have already signed Neymar up until the summer of 2025 and, having rebuffed Tottenham’s approaches for manager Mauricio Pochettino, hope they can get Mbappe to sign a new contract.
The Spanish giants had been linked with Mbappe and Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland, but it now appears neither are likely to arrive in Madrid this summer.
Real are undergoing a squad rebuild with Carlo Ancelotti taking over from Zinedine Zidane as manager ahead of the 2021/22 season.
Ancelotti has already offered an olive branch to Gareth Bale, who spent last season on loan with Spurs, and Eden Hazard, who has struggled since his big-money move from Chelsea two years ago.
