Real Madrid are reportedly weighing up the option whether to swoop for Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti should Zinedine Zidane decide to walk away in the summer.
Revealed by Sportsmail last week, regardless of whether Real Madrid win LaLiga this season or not Zidane is ready to depart the Bernabeu after the final game of the season against Villarreal on May 23.
The Frenchman feels he no longer has the backing of president Florentino Perez, even if he becomes the first Madrid manager since 1989 to win back-to-back league titles with the club.

It will be the second time Zidane has left the club having in his previous spell also walked away at the end of the 2017-18 season following a successful tenure where he won another league title as well as three Champions League wins in a row.
There is still a chance Zidane could stay on at Madrid beyond the summer, with promising youth prospects such as Miguel Gutierrez looking to breakthrough, and the Frenchman would consider his options if the club continued a pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe.
Madrid are now looking at potential options to replace him though and according to the Mirror, Ancelotti is targeted for a Bernabeu return.
Ancelotti has also won the Champions League with Madrid back in 2014 but was sacked by Perez a year later after failing retain the trophy following a semi-final defeat and finishing runners-up in LaLiga.

An Ancelotti return may also play a role in where Gareth Bale lines up next season, with the Wales forward, currently on loan at Tottenham Hotspur, having flourished under Ancelotti in his first two years at Madrid before later being frozen out by Zidane.
However, the report states that promoting Real’s legendary striker Raul from within the club appears to be the most likely option having impressed in charge of the youth team as well as his current position with the B-team Castilla side.
Max Allegri is also another potential candidate for the current Spanish champions who under Zidane, trail city rivals and league leaders Atletico Madrid by two points with just two matches left as they prepare to travel to Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.
Should Zidane walk away in the summer he is likely to be targeted by Juventus, where he starred as a player, as well as France should they opt for a fresh approach following the European Championship.
