Real Madrid are reportedly targeting Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies and will rival Manchester City for the Canada star.
The Spanish club are looking to build their team with the long-term in mind and have identified the 22-year-old as the perfect candidate to become first choice left-back.
The speedy Canadian, who starred at the World Cup in Qatar, has been identified as one of the best in the world by Los Blancos.
Davies has a contract with Bayern Munich until the summer of 2025 and the German champions will be reluctant to let him leave, let alone depart cheaply, according to Sky Sports.
Since joining Bayern in 2018, Davies has won the Bundesliga four times as well as the Champions League.

Jude Bellingham appears to be Madrid-bound and is set become their second-highest earner
Madrid are also reportedly eyeing a potential world-record deal for Kylian Mbappe as well as pursuing Jude Bellingham.
The PSG star, 24, signed a three-year contract before the 2022-23 campaign and is allegedly set to earn more than £547million.
Madrid made their interest in Mbappe clear in 2021 when they submitted a final bid of £154million for the Ligue 1 star in an attempt to pry him away from Paris.
Mbappe has been heavily linked to Madrid in previous windows and now Los Blancos believe they can convince him to leave PSG, according to The Telegraph.
The newspaper reported that the Spanish giants are hoping to capitalise on the ongoing ‘uncertainty’ at the French club.
Meanwhile, Bellingham appears to be Real Madrid-bound and is on course to become the club’s second-highest earner this summer.
Real look poised to see off competition from Manchester City and Liverpool, who were both interested in the English midfielder, although the Reds pulled out of the race in April.
The Spanish club is in the driver’s seat and Bild report that they will be paying Bellingham £17.4m-a-year (£334,000-a-week).
The fee to be paid to Dortmund is anticipated to be in the region of £130million, with the England star set to reject a new deal at the Bundesliga club, according to reports, believed to be worth around £230,000-a-week.
