Marcus Rashford has apologised for swearing after scoring the winning goal against Liverpool, as he laughed off his passionate celebration as being in the ‘heat of the moment’.

The 24-year-old looked to be at his best once again against Jurgen Klopp’s side, netting what would turn out to be the winner for United in the 53rd minute.

A clip showing off an alternative angle of Rashford’s finish and celebration was then released by the club on Wednesday, which showed the pumped-up England star let loose after finishing smartly past Alisson.

While the bad language in the clip isn’t audible, Rashford laughed off the moment by telling fans to ‘excuse my language’ in the ‘heat of the moment’

And while his bad language can’t be heard in the clip posted by the Red Devils, a sheepish Rashford took to Twitter shortly after to tell fans to ‘excuse’ his language having known he dropped expletives during the jubilant celebrations before laughing it off.

Rashford tweeted, ‘Please excuse my language it was just in the heat of the moment’ following by a laughing emoji.

Prior to Monday, Rashford was enduring a difficult time on the pitch as he struggled with injuries and a lack of form, failing to net since March.

However, his performance against arch-rivals Liverpool also saw him earn plenty of praise from Arsenal legend Ray Parlour.

‘Rashford was a different player, unbelievable. I’m really pleased for him as well. he needed that goal and it was a great finish by the way,’ Parlour said speaking on talkSPORT.

Ray arlour was impressed by Rashford’s finishing as he opted to be Alisson at his near-post

‘He showed the eyes to Alisson, putting it near-post instead of far-post. Usually you go for the far-post there, a little bit like Elanga did and hit the post.

‘That’s what I thought Rashford would do, but he showed him the eyes and went near-post and what a great finish it was.’

Monday night’s win has lifted Erik ten Hag’s side above Liverpool and into 14th in the table after back-to-back defeats in their opening games.

Rashford will be hoping to impress again when United travel to Southampton for Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off.
