Rangnicks staff will include Solskjaers Man Utd team – and some new additions

Incoming Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick is set to assess his backroom staff as the Red Devils look to move on from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Solskjaer was dismissed as United manager following the side's 4-1 loss to Watford last weekend.

Rangnick is set to join United on an interim basis before moving to a consultancy role next summer.

And as one of Rangnick's first jobs at Old Trafford will be to assess his backroom staff, according to The Athletic.

However, Rangnick looks set to install some of his own trusted lieutenants, specifically a video analyst, which United are currently lacking.

Rangnick has tended to produce his best work when he has been completely hands-on with a club.

This is perhaps best seen at the Red Bull footballing empire where the German was in charge of both RB Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg.

Rangnick installed his men into positions of power, and he changed the overall philosophy of the sides as they begin to focus on youth players they could develop and sell at a profit.

Red Bull reaped the rewards when Salzburg claimed the UEFA Youth League and Leipzig have become a European force in their own right.

Is Rangnick the right man to transition United into a new era? Let us know in the comments section

United will be hoping that Rangnick can stop the freefall the side have entered into in recent months.

The Red Devils currently sit in eighth place in the table, and they're only three points ahead of 13th placed Southampton.
