Rangnick’s Pogba plea, Man Utd reject Martial bid, Barcelona star linked
After spending lavishly in recent transfer windows, Manchester United have managed to build a squad with quality, depth but not much balance.
As a result, it feels as though interim boss Ralf Rangnick will likely be tasked with trimming down the current crop of players in January, with a view to laying some groundwork for his eventual successor in the summer.
Given the depth United have in certain areas, it's no surprise that some players have been marginalised.
Daily Star Sport has some of the latest United transfer buzz, with two players in focus who appear likely to leave Old Trafford in 2022.
Rangnick wants Pogba to stay
According to La Repubblica,, Rangnick is "trying to convince" Paul Pogba to agree a new deal at United amid interest from Juventus.
The midfielder's contract is up at Old Trafford at the end of the season, meaning the Frenchman's future at United is in major doubt.
In the report it's said Pogba's agent Mino Raiola has already had discussions with Juventus about a potential return. The playmaker spent four seasons with the Turin giants before he moved to United in 2016 for a world-record fee.
It's said Rangnick has already had a phone call with Pogba about his future. The France international has been sidelined since November 2 due to an injury he picked up on international duty.

Martial approach rejected
According to BBC Sport, Manchester United have knocked back an offer from Sevilla to sign Anthony Martial on loan for the remainder of the season.
It's said the Andalusian giants were only willing to pay half of the France international's £150,000 weekly salary as part of the deal.
In the report, it's said the Red Devils are still undecided as to whether they let Martial leave on a temporary basis, although they will only consider proposals that include a loan fee and the player's entire salary covered.
Martial has plummeted down the pecking order at United, making just 10 appearances in all competitions this season.
'Very important' offer to Araujo
According to Sport, Manchester United have made a "very important offer" to Barcelona for defender Ronald Araujo.
In the report it's said the centre-back is angling for a new contract at the moment, as his wages currently don't match up to other players in his position like Gerard Pique, Samuel Umtiti, Clement Lenglet and Eric Garcia.
The Uruguayan's current contract expires in 2023 and given Barcelona's current financial struggles, it'll be intriguing to see if they can hand the 22-year-old a significant hike in salary to reflect his improved status in the team.
United and a number of other Premier League clubs are said to be monitoring the situation around the impressive defender.
