Eric Bailly was on the receiving end of a hairdryer treatment Sir Alex Ferguson would have been proud of from Ralf Rangnick earlier this season, according to reports.
The Ivorian had been recalled from the Ivory Coast national side but staff at Manchester United discovered he was in a different location than what had been agreed. Bailly then drew the fury of Rangnick when he returned from AFCON a couple of months later.
Bailly reported back to United later than expected following the continental competition. And after discovering he was injured, an irate Rangnick tore into the centre-back in front of the United squad.
According to The Athletic, Bailly had been granted an early departure to prepare for the AFCON.
Bailly has not featured for the Red Devils since returning from the AFCON, and his last appearance was a 66-minute cameo against Burnley in December. The Ivorian has only made four Premier League appearances this season – with a further three in other competitions.
He even made a cheeky Instagram plea for more game time, and Rangnick slammed him in a press conference after the incident.

"If it’s true what you told me, it’s not the right sign and should not happen in a football club, no matter what league," Rangnick told the press.
It's expected Bailly will be one of the United players on the chopping block over the summer, as new boss Erik ten Hag looks to streamline his squad going into the new campaign.
