Rangers squad for Old Firm clash vs Celtic confirmed with decision on Kent and Hagi

Rangers: Ianis Hagi says signing for team was his 'top priority'

Rangers host Old Firm rivals Celtic today in a bid to further strengthen their hold at the top of the Scottish Premiership and Steven Gerrard has a few key decisions to make. Rangers have been in terrific form this season, dropping just four points all campaign.

They’re the league’s top scorers as well with nearly an average of three goals per game.

Gerrard’s side have already tasted victory over Celtic this season, winning the first Old Firm derby 2-0 back in October.

That defeat sparked a small dip in form for Celtic as they went on to win just one of their following four matches.

But Rangers are currently on a 13-game winning streak in the league and have opened up a commanding lead at the top of the table.

However, Gerrard will have a number of key decisions to make for his starting line-up against Celtic this afternoon.

The Rangers boss will be without both Ryan Jack and Scott Arfield for the second Old Firm derby of the season.

The midfield pair have been regulars in Gerrard’s side this season, meaning the Rangers boss will need to rejig his squad.

Steven Davis, Joe Aribo and Glen Kamara are expected to hold the three midfield positions.

DON’T MISS

In defence, Gerrard will have to choose from either Filip Helander or Leon Balogun to partner Connor Goldson.

Helander has been the preferred option in recent weeks with Rangers keeping clean sheets in their last three matches.

But arguably Gerrard’s toughest decision will come in the front three positions.

Kemar Roofe is likely to hold on to his place, the other two positions remain up for grabs.

Ianis Hagi has been in terrific form of late with two goals and two assists in four matches.

Ryan Kent meanwhile was left out of the starting line-up for the first time this season last week, meaning he should be fresh for today’s game.

Alfredo Morelos hasn’t been in top form this campaign, although he did bag his fourth goal of the season in the recent 2-0 win over St Mirren.
