Rangers fans fume as John Terry spotted supporting Celtic at Old Firm derby
Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to rage at John Terry after he was spotted supporting Celtic at Sunday's Old Firm derby.
Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic played host to their bitter rivals Rangers on Sunday lunchtime. But one face who many were surprised to see was former Chelsea and England captain Terry.
The ex-defender took up a consultancy role with the Blues academy at the start of 2022, having left his assistant manager job at Aston Villa last summer. Chelsea take on Everton on Sunday afternoon, but Terry had his attentions on Scottish football's biggest game instead, much to the annoyance of Rangers fans.
The 41-year-old was picked up by Sky Sports and plenty of cameras sitting in the Parkhead stands in a three-piece suit. But he was also sporting a Celtic scarf, which seemed to infuriate rivals supporters.
Taking to Twitter, they vented their anger at the Englishman, with one writing: "F*** John Terry." A second put: "Never liked John Terry."
A third shared: "John Terry is p**** pass it on." As a bewildered fourth wrote: "Why the f*** is John Terry at the Old Firm wearing a Celtic scarf? Surprised he didn't turn up in full kit."

It seems Terry has a long-term affiliation to Celtic though, having claimed after a friendly between Chelsea and the Hoops in 2006 that he has a soft spot for them.
"I have always been a bit of a Celtic fan," he said. "There was only one reason I took to them. Like my brother Paul, I followed Scottish football as well as English football when I was young.
"He supported Rangers and I wanted some atmosphere in the house so I went for Celtic. "You start doing that as a kid and find yourself looking at their results ever after."
