Rangers 3-0 Livingston: Ianis Hagi, Scott Wright and Kemar Roofe on target as Steven Gerrard’s side begin their Premiership title defence with comfortable win at Ibrox

  • Rangers opened their Scottish Premiership title defence with a comfortable win
  • Ianis Hagi lashed in their opening goal of the season just eight minutes in
  • Steven Gerrard’s side dominated the match and several chances come and go
  • But Scott Wright produced a nice finish to ensure the win with 12 minutes left
  • Kemar Roofe then seized upon defensive hesitancy to score a late third goal

Ianis Hagi scored the opener before going off injured as Rangers started their cinch Premiership title defence with a 3-0 victory over Livingston.

Hagi was left in space from an eighth-minute free-kick into the box before converting in style. However, he departed before half-time after being hurt in a foul by Adam Lewis.

Rangers could not keep up their early pace but substitutes Scott Wright and Kemar Roofe both finished following goalmouth scrambles in the final 12 minutes as the champions made it 20 consecutive home wins in the league.
