Ramos adds to speculation over Premier League move with social media activity
Sergio Ramos has added fuel to the flames of rumours linking him with a Real Madrid exit by 'liking' an Instagram post criticising the club.
The 34-year-old is into his 16th season at the Bernabeu, during which time he has become a legend after helping the side win five La Liga titles and four Champions Leagues.
However, with his contract set to expire in the summer the centre-back's time in Madrid may well be coming to an end.
He has been linked with a whole host of Premier League clubs, such as Liverpool and Manchester United.
And judging by his activity on social media he has been far from impressed by the way he has been treated by Madrid, and is looking for a switch.
Ramos 'liked' a post by a Madrid fan account which included a picture of him looking disconsolate.
And the caption read: "Real Madrid are not convinced that Sergio Ramos will LEAVE the club this summer.
"That's how we treat our legends. Heartbraking (sp)", along with a broken heart emoji.
The prospect of Ramos in the Premier League is certainly an intriguing one, and he would certainly bring no end of winning experience.
The likes of PSG and Bayern Munich may provide stiff competition, for his signature, however.
Even at 34 he will expect to earn more than £200,000 a week – and turned down a new two-year deal at Real when he was asked to take a 10 percent pay cut.
Ramos’ camp are expected to target United first, amid rumours that Old Trafford is the defender’s first choice destination.
United have shown by signing 33-year-old Edinson Cavani that age is no barrier and Ramos, who heard all about life at United from David Beckham when they played together in Madrid, would bring much-needed experience to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s defence.
