Ralf Rangnick would want full power at Manchester United if he’s to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, it has been claimed. The 63-year-old is currently working at Lokomotiv Moscow. However, it seems he’d happily leave his post in Russia in order to take control at Old Trafford.
United have fallen apart under Solskjaer in recent times, ever since a shock 2-1 Champions League defeat to Young Boys.
Despite the fine exploits of Cristiano Ronaldo, who has scored nine goals since his Hollywood homecoming from Juventus, the Red Devils have lost six of their last 12 matches across all competitions.
As a result, there’s currently plenty being speculated over with Solskjaer battling to keep the job he’s always dreamed of.
The Glazers have so far held fire due to a lack of alternatives out there, despite acknowledging the worsening mood around Old Trafford.
And one name to have been linked with the post in the last few days is Rangnick, who has previously been successful at the likes of RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim in the past.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has spoken out on the situation with the 63-year-old.

And he’s claimed that while there’s some interest from United, Rangnick wanting full power would complicate matters.
“It’s not easy because he wants the full power on everything,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.
“It’s not just the technical point, the system or these kinds of things.
“He wants to decide on everything at the club and this is why Ralf Rangnick isn’t so easy for Manchester United.
“He’s appreciated by someone in the board but he’s not one of the main options right now.”
And he added: “From Rangnick there is the desire to manage with Manchester United, it is a dream for him.

“But, for now, there is nothing going on from United with Rangnick.”
Rangnick isn’t the only name being linked with United in recent days given the severity of their crisis under Solskjaer.
The actual frontrunner for the job appears to be Brendan Rodgers, who has worked wonders during his time at Leicester City.
However, having struggled to lure Harry Maguire away from the Foxes back in the summer of 2019, the Red Devils know any pursuit will be difficult.
Another option for United is Mauricio Pochettino.
But with the Argentine managing Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe at Paris Saint-Germain, there’s no indication he’d leave for the post at Old Trafford.
Zinedine Zidane is a third candidate.
He’s available, too, having left Real Madrid for a second time back in the summer.
Yet with Zidane currently enjoying his time away from management, amid claims he’d prefer the France job, he’s only a dark horse for the United position.
Rio Ferdinand, meanwhile, has called on Solskjaer to go.
“He’s done actually what he’s been brought in to do,” he said.
“He’s come in and given the fans hope again, made the fans want to come back and watch your team again.
“He’s done that. He has done a great job in that sense. But is he going to take us to win titles? Is he going to make us challenge to win a Champions League?
“You need the foundations that have been built to fall back on when you are lacking that confidence.
“When you’re thinking a five, a 10-yard ball that is normally easy becomes a difficult ball – the foundations get you through that. We (United) ain’t got that.
“The football club will be living here and breathing here longer than any individual. It’s what’s best for this football club.
“I just feel that maybe it might be time now for the baton to be handed over.
“Who can take us on now? And I think Ole would leave now with his head held high.”
