Raging Declan Rice blasts ‘disgrace’ VAR decision ‘up there with the worst ever’
Fuming Declan Rice blasted officials after Maxwel Cornet's strike was ruled out after Jarrod Bowen was deemed to have fouled Edouard Mendy.
Cornet thought he had made it 2-2, but after VAR summoned referee Andrew Madley to the monitor Bowen was judged to have caught Mendy with his trailing leg, causing the Chelsea shot-stopper to clutch his stomach and remain on the ground. He then ruled out the goal.
And West Ham star Rice was less than happy on Twitter, as he took to the social media platform to fume: "That’s up there with one of the worst VAR decisions made since it’s come into the game. Shambles!"

Rice then added: "Can’t believe the referee has even been asked to go take a look at the monitor! Cannot see how they’ve come to that decision."
The Englishman didn't stop there, and he told the BBC: "Obviously, the main talking point is the disallowed goal. We've looked at it back as a team, and I can't say too much because if I say what I think I'll get fined.
"How you can go over to the monitor and think that's a foul, it's an absolute disgrace!"

Rice wasn't the only Hammer unhappy at the decision, and David Moyes fumed: “You have seen it, it is a scandalous decision, absolutely rotten from one of the supposedly elite referees.
"It doesn’t say much about whoever sent him over from VAR as well – it is an unbelievable decision against us!"
