Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic reportedly wants to remain with Chelsea this season amid links away from the club.

The 24-year-old is well down the pecking order at the Premier League giants, leaving him struggling for minutes on the field.

The USA international is planning to stay at Chelsea unless he receives a ‘great and interesting,’ offer following the World Cup, according to a report from Sky Sports in Germany.

Christian Pulisic has been linked with move away from Chelsea with several teams interested

Premier league rivals Newcastle, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund have all been said to be interested in acquiring the American winger in the January window.

Dortmund sold Pulisic to Chelsea for $69million in 2019, and he is now in the final 18 months of his contract in London.

Reports over the summer emerged that Pulisic had been considering a move away the club in order to secure more game time leading up to the World Cup, as former manager Thomas Tuchel appeared to favor him as a substitute at best.

Newcastle are interested in Pulisic but their lack of Champions League football is a concern

Manchester United held tentative talks over a price for Pulisic in August prior to signing Brazilian Anthony.

After canceling Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract, United’s immediate priority is for a central striker but, with ongoing concerns over Jadon Sancho’s form, they will continue to monitor what unfolds with Pulisic.

Arsenal are also in the market for a wide player and admire Pulisic’s ability to play in different roles across the midfield.

Liverpool are also reported admirers, although their main focus is on Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham.

High-flying Newcastle are actively scouting wingers to improve Eddie Howe’s squad while AC Milan and Juventus have also made enquiries in recent months about Pulisic. However, a reported move to cash-strapped Inter is considered unlikely.

Chelsea must also consider whether it makes sense to cash in on the America’s No. 10 during January rather than allow his contract to run into its final 12 months, when Pulisic’s value would fall if he does not sign a new deal soon.

While his playing time saw a slight increase under new coach Graham Potter, Pulisic has still been used as a substitute more than he has as a starter despite contributing to multiple goals since the new manager took over.

A look at Pulisic’s club statistics for producing goals and assists per 90 minutes still reflect favorably compared to teammates Kai Havertz, Mason Mount and Raheem Sterling, despite both Potter and Tuchel choosing to repeatedly overlook his talents.

This lack of consistent playing would make it appear likely that Potter would be willing to part with the winger as he continues to shape the squad.

Pulisic’s immediate focus is on getting the USA through to the World Cup knockout stages with their progress resting on Tuesday’s decider against Iran.

‘We have a lot of work left to do,’ he said reacting to praise following their England performance. ‘Everyone back home watching us against England, I hope we made a lot of people proud, but the job isn’t even close to done, so we’ve got a lot of work left to do.’

He has drawn large amounts of praise following the draws against both Wales and England when at many times he has looked like the most dangerous player on the field with the ball at his feet.

The winger won man of the match as the USA dominated against England for large periods

Pulisic has repaid the trust showed in him by US coach Gregg Berhalter, who utilizes him in not only his favored role on the left side of the attack, but also as the unquestioned focal point of the attack.

He has more importantly re-shown the World what he can do when healthy and entrusted in this role.

If the man known as ‘Captain America’ were to leave the west London club in the new year, it would bring an end to a four-year spell which included a Champions League triumph over Manchester City in May 2021.
