PSG ‘would love’ to do Kylian Mbappe to Liverpool deal but his stance is clear
Premier League transfer round-up: Henderson completes Saudi move
Kylian Mbappe has seemingly played his final game for Paris Saint-Germain after refusing to sign a new contract at the Parc des Princes. The French giants are said to be desperate to sell the 24-year-old this summer, with reports suggesting that Liverpool are one of several interested parties keeping a close eye on the situation.
Mbappe recently turned down the opportunity to join Saudi outfit Al-Hilal on a jaw-dropping salary of around £11million per week, while PSG are convinced that he has agreed to sign for Real Madrid at the end of next season. Liverpool have also been tentatively linked with the forward over the last few years, with the latest developments in Paris having sparked a renewed wave of speculation.
It was recently reported by The Mirror that Liverpool had opened talks with PSG over a surprise loan move for Mbappe, which would allow him to play regular football before joining Real Madrid in 2024. However, the possibility of such a deal appears to be very slim, with Mbappe set to reject any further offers from elsewhere as he waits for Los Blancos to come calling.
PSG ‘would love’ to do business with Liverpool but it seems likely that Mbappe would put a stop to any potential move, according to Fabrizio Romano. It is said that Mbappe remains determined to sign for Real Madrid, either now or when his contract runs out next summer, and is not prepared to join any other club as a result.

The Ligue 1 champions are desperate to sell Mbappe in order to avoid losing him on a free transfer, while they will also be required to pay out a hefty sum if he ends up staying until the end of his contract. Sky Sports have claimed that Mbappe will be due to receive £51m as part of a loyalty bonus if he remains at PSG on August 1, which would need to be paid on top of his £61m annual salary.
Chelsea have also been mentioned in connection with Mbappe in recent days, with the Daily Record reporting that the Blues are trying to discuss an ambitious part-exchange deal for the striker. Mbappe’s stance on joining any team other than Real Madrid will pour cold water on the move, though, in spite of PSG’s desire to get rid of him as quickly as possible.

Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi recently vowed that Mbappe will be sold unless he decides to officially extend his stay at PSG, saying: “My position is very clear. I don’t want to repeat it every time. If Kylian wants to stay, we want him to stay, but he needs to sign a new contract.
“We don’t want to lose the best player in the world for free, we can’t do that. This is a French club. He said he would never leave for free. If he changes his mind today, it’s not my fault. We don’t want to lose the best player in the world for free, that’s very clear.”
