PSG 'will move for Everton's Richarlison if Kylian Mbappe leaves'

PSG ‘are ALREADY in talks with Everton forward Richarlison over replacing Kylian Mbappe’ as the French giants move quickly for the Toffees attacker while the France star closes in on his sensational move to Real Madrid

  • PSG and France star Kylian Mbappe is being chased by Real Madrid this summer
  • Real have seen two bids rejected for the 22-year-old, including one for £154m
  • PSG will move for Everton star Richarlison if Mbappe goes, according to reports
  • Richarlison’s agents are reportedly in Paris discussing a deal if Mbappe leaves

Paris Saint-Germain are eyeing up a shock move for Everton forward Richarlison this summer if Kylian Mbappe ends up leaving the club in the final days of the transfer window, say reports.

Sportsmail revealed that PSG have rejected a second offer of £154million from Real Madrid for France forward Mbappe, who wants to leave the club this summer.

PSG are defiant that the 22-year-old forward is not leaving the club with president Nasser Al-Khelaifi revealing the French giants will not change their stance of Mbappe being unavailable for transfer.

But according to ESPN Brazil, Richarlison’s agents are in Paris negotiating a deal if Mbappe ends up moving to Real, as the Everton winger is on a shortlist of names PSG are prepared to move for if the Frenchman does leave.

The report adds that negotiations between PSG and Real are expected to accelerate on Friday morning, with negotiations over a Richarlison to PSG deal stalling due to uncertainty over Mbappe’s future.

Everton are reportedly aware of PSG’s interest in Richarlison as the Toffees face a nervous few days regarding the future of one of their star players.

The Premier League side will have to wait until Mbappe’s situation is cleared up after Real Madrid made a second attempt to sign the French World Cup winner on Thursday.

The improved offer, confirmed by the Spanish club to Sportsmail, of £145m plus £9m in add-ons was tabled but Al-Khelaifi responded: ‘Our position is clear. We will not change it or repeat it.’

PSG had reacted angrily to Madrid’s first bid on Tuesday of £137m. The club’s sporting director Leonardo accused the Spanish giants of ‘illegal and disrespectful behaviour’.

In a interview with Marca, L’Equipe, Le Parisien, the agency AFP and radio RMC, Leonardo said: ‘PSG’s position has always been to keep Kylian. That’s been the aim for the last two years and it remains unchanged.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi (above) insists the club will not sell Mbappe to Real Madrid

‘We made him a big offer two months ago – at the level of the best players – and another even more recently which was even higher, but this is a strategy of Real Madrid, to have the name of one of our players.

‘For the last two years the behavior of Madrid has been incorrect, illegal, getting in contact with his representatives, unacceptable, completely incorrect towards us. And the proof of this strategy is to present an offer seven days before the market shuts and a year before the end of his contract. It seems like a strategy that suggests they have tried everything.

‘It’s not the sum [offered] which we believe to be a long way from what we were thinking. And we are not going to sell a player for less than we paid for him when he was 18. We have to give a certain amount to Monaco and the offer is not sufficient.’

Leonardo has accused Real Madrid of an illegal approach as well as a lack of respect for PSG

Richarlison, meanwhile, has become a key member of the Everton side and has formed an excellent relationship up front with fellow Toffees forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The 24-year-old has registered a double digit goal tally in each of his three seasons at Goodison Park, with his Toffees record sitting at 43 goals in 121 matches.

Richarlison was rushed back into Everton duty by new head coach Rafa Benitez after spending the summer at the Copa America and Olympic Games with the Brazilian national team.

The Everton star helped the Selecao finish as runners-up in the Copa America before claiming Olympic gold in Tokyo a few weeks later.
