Premier League fans have their say on the best and worst top-flight atmospheres in a Fan Hope Survey with Sky Bet… so which stadiums came out on top and bottom?
- The 2023-24 Premier League season is set to begin in just over two weeks’ time
- Fans have been voting on the best and worst atmospheres in the top flight
- Where does your club’s stadium rank among liveliest Premier League grounds?
Premier League fans were asked to vote on which grounds have the best atmosphere in the top flight and the results will please supporters of some clubs more than others.
Sky Bet has launched its 2023/24 Fan Hope Survey, quizzing Premier League supporters on their hopes, views, and expectations ahead of the new season.
Anfield was the clear winner of a poll on the league’s best atmospheres, with over a quarter of fans (27 per cent) selecting the Liverpool home.
According to those questioned, Newcastle boats the second-best atmosphere in the league (16 per cent).
Manchester United’s Old Trafford sits in third with 10 per cent of the vote.
Liverpool’s Anfield was the majority choice for best atmosphere in the Premier League
Newcastle’s St James’ Park came in second with 16 per cent of the vote from those polled
The Sky Bet survey also asked fans to identify the grounds with the worst atmospheres, finding the London Stadium to have the poorest vibe in the division, with West Ham receiving 13 per cent of the vote
Newly promoted Luton Town’s 10,000-seat Kenilworth Road was another on the wrong end of the survey with 10 per cent choosing it as the worst.
Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium rounded at the top three despite the massive improvement in the mood around the club over the past 12 months.
A Sky Bet spokesperson said: ‘Fans are the heart and soul of football, and their passion and support of the team is a huge factor for players. Tales of a European night under the lights at Anfield are very common, but fans’ domestic performances are also appreciated by other fanbases too.
‘So, if you’re easily intimidated, it’s best to avoid Liverpool on a Saturday, and instead head to the placid London Stadium for quiet day at the footie – or Villa Park, according to Aston Villa fans!’
