Police probe alleged damage of Man City bus from carnage before Liverpool loss

Merseyside Police has confirmed it is looking into reports that the Manchester City bus was damaged after Sunday's feisty showdown with Liverpool.

The match, which finished 1-0 to Jurgen Klopp's men at Anfield, was tainted by the off-the-pitch headlines which were made when City fans were heard chanting vile chants aimed at the Hillsborough and Heysel disasters and graffiti left in the away end.

Guardiola has also claimed Liverpool fans targeted the Spaniard with coins, with his Liverpool counterpart also being sent off for his conduct with the officials.

Pep was already livid with pre-match comments from his Liverpool counterpart about City's spending being labelled "xenophobic", and now it has been revealed that an official probe has been launched into the City team coach being targeted as it made its way back to Manchester from Anfield.

Merseyside Police has now confirmed that the force has received reports of the incident. A spokesperson said: "We have now received a report of an alleged criminal damage of the Manchester City team coach following the Liverpool and Manchester City game on Sunday 16 October.
