Mauricio Pochettino will reportedly push for Manchester United to sign Harry Kane should the former Tottenham boss takeover as the club’s new manager this summer.
Pochettino, 49, has long been linked with a return to England following his Spurs exit and United are interested in bringing the Argentine in on a full-time basis when Ralf Rangnick’s interim spell comes to an end this season.
And according to The Telegraph, Pochettino is expected to urge the Red Devils sign England captain Kane should he take the helm at Old Trafford.

Pochettino and Kane enjoy a strong relationship following their time together at Spurs and the 28-year-old could angle for a Tottenham exit this summer when he enters the final two years of his contract.
Kane was desperate to leave last summer amid strong interest from Manchester City and argued that he had a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ with Daniel Levy that he would be allowed to leave in the event of failure to finish in the top four.
However, the Spurs chairman rebuffed the Premier League champion’s approaches, which included a £150million bid.
The Englishman has since publicly stated that he is more content at Spurs now, with Antonio Conte’s arrival a big boost, although there are concerns about the Italian’s future in north Londoner should they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

United have an ageing strikeforce with 37-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo leading the line while Edinson Cavani, 34, is expected to leave for free when his contract expires at the end of the season.
The same outlet reports that senior figures at Old Trafford have regretted not making a more concerted effort to land Kane, with the Red Devils bystanders as City and Spurs tussled over the England captain last summer.
A reunion with Pochettino would appear enticing for Kane. The striker turns 29 in July and a Tottenham exit may be a case of ‘now or never’.

Pochettino is currently in charge of Paris Saint-Germain but is on United’s shortlist of long-term replacements for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Ajax coach Erik ten Hag is also believed to be among the contenders, as is Spain boss Luis Enrique.
The Telegraph adds that United chiefs feel that Pochettino ‘really fits’ with the challenge of rebuilding the Red Devils, and the search is being conducted by football director John Murtough and overseen by new chief executive Richard Arnold.
Conte’s side are seventh in the Premier League following their 3-2 defeat by Southampton in midweek, and take on eighth-place Wolves on Sunday.
