Pochettino has already ‘told close friends’ about next move amid Man Utd links
Mauricio Pochettino has already told close friends of his what his intentions are ahead of the summer.
That is amid reports that Manchester United have made the Paris Saint-Germain boss their top target to come in and take the job at the end of the season.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked in November after a string of shocking results, including his last match in charge where Watford thrashed them 4-1.
Ralf Rangnick arrived in an interim role – which he will hold until the end of the season – before moving upstairs into a consultancy role.
It has given the Red Devils some breathing space to pinpoint someone on a long-term role and several coaches have been linked.
Some include Erik ten Hag, Luis Enrique and Brendan Rodgers but the hot favourite to take the job is PSG boss Pochettino.
And United have received a boost in their pursuit of the Argentine after reports emerged that he is looking to leave the Parc des Princes.
According to Foot Mercato, Pochettino has told those close to him that he intends on quitting Paris at the end of the season.
And that will add fuel to the fire that he is preparing to immediately sign for United as their next manager.
There was heavy speculation that the former Tottenham boss was prepared to end his time in Ligue 1 as soon as Solskjaer was sacked.
The strains of managing PSG have left the 49-year-old fed up, especially the way in which the club operates.
Foot Mercato further reports that Pochettino and sporting director Leonardo do not get on and their problems came to a head at the end of the transfer window.
Tanguy Ndombele was being eyed by the Murphy-born manager and he was desperate for the Frenchman to arrive after signing him at Tottenham.
But Leonardo was not as keen and the midfielder ended up joining Lyon on loan until the end of the season instead.
PSG could already have a replacement lined up with Zinedine Zidane the favourite to take over at the Parc des Princes.
