Piers Morgan slams Mikel Arteta for 'humiliating' Aubameyang

Piers Morgan has blasted Mikel Arteta’s decision to allow star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to leave Arsenal for Barcelona earlier this year.
After enjoying a successful six-month stint at Barcelona, it has now emerged that the club are willing to listen to offers for the former Arsenal striker.
Reports suggest that Chelsea may be interested in Aubameyang’s services, with Thomas Tuchel having worked with the 33-year-old during their time at Borussia Dortmund.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is reportedly interested in bringing the striker to Stamford Bridge
Twitter user @GoonerTalk reacted to the news of Aubameyang’s possible departure from the LaLiga club, alleging that the striker’s short time at the Nou Camp was evidence of an attitude problem.
They wrote: ‘Piers Morgan went on and on about Arsenal offloading ‘world class striker’ Aubameyang, just for Barcelona to try to get rid of him 6 months later. If a player is rumoured to be problematic and then two teams bin him within 6 months, you can take those rumours as gospel.’
Piers Morgan hit back at the claims, however, writing: ‘No reports of [Aubameyang] being anything but exemplary at Barca, and a goal machine. Now he may go to Chelsea, managed by Tuchel who managed him at Dortmund & loved him so much he wants to work with him again. So every part of this tweet is utter twaddle.’

Morgan replied to another tweet suggesting the player’s time-keeping shouldn’t be an issue
After another user responded claiming that Tuchel would actively lie to the striker about the times of club meetings to ensure that he attended on time, Morgan replied: ‘He’s a poor time-keeper, big deal. Tuchel managed him superbly, Arteta chose to humiliate him & give him away – costing us Top4.’
After joining Arsenal for a then-club record £56m fee in 2018 during Arsene Wenger’s final season at the Emirates, Aubameyang quickly established himself in North London, scoring ten Premier League goals from his first 13 appearances at the club.

In his first full season in North London, Aubameyang would continue his success in front of goal, winning the Golden Boot with 25 Premier League goals in the 2018-19 season.
However, relations between Aubameyang and the club would sour after Mikel Arteta took over from Unai Emery in 2019.
The recently-released All or Nothing documentary deterioration of the pair’s relationship, revealing that Arteta kept a detailed file on all of his then-captain’s ‘misdemeanors’ at the club, before stripping him of the captaincy in December.
