Piers Morgan blasts Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta for ‘humiliating’ Aubameyang

Piers Morgan has blasted Mikel Arteta for the umpteenth time for his handling of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Arsenal.

Aubameyang left the Gunners earlier this year after falling out of favour under Arteta due to repeated disciplinary issues. He joined Barcelona as a free agent soon after, with staunch fan Morgan furious at the whole situation.

Six months on and countless angry tweets from Morgan, Aubameyang has been linked with a move to Arsenal's rivals Chelsea. According to reports, he could be sold by cash-strapped Barca in order to raise funds.

Reacting to the news, Twitter user @GoonerTalk posted: "Piers Morgan went on and on about Arsenal offloading 'world class striker' Aubameyang, just for Barcelona to try to get rid of him 6 months later. If a player is rumoured to be problematic and then two teams bin him within 6 months, you can take those rumours as gospel."

Of course, Morgan couldn't resist responding. He wrote: "No reports of @Auba being anything but exemplary at Barca, and a goal machine. Now he may go to Chelsea, managed by Tuchel who managed him at Dortmund & loved him so much he wants to work with him again. So every part of this tweet is utter twaddle."

Another fan argued: "Tuchel used to tell him the wrong times for meetings on purpose to get him there early lmao, he’s no angel."

To which Morgan replied: "He’s a poor time-keeper, big deal. Tuchel managed him superbly, Arteta chose to humiliate him & give him away – costing us Top4."

Aubameyang's acrimonious exit has been documented in the recently-released All or Nothing: Arsenal, with the show revealing Arteta kept a file on his then-captain's "misdemeanours".

After his online back-and-forth on Wednesday (August 10), Morgan, who is clearly still not ready to let the saga go, tweeted about it again today (August 11) nearly 24 hours on.

"About to watch episodes 3/4/5 of Arsenal ‘All or Nothing’ on a plane," he began. "I have a feeling it will confirm everything I feared about the Aubameyang debacle.

"Bit like the KP (Kevin Pietersen) fiasco in England cricket – big on ‘secret dossier’, short on facts."
