Pic naming ‘biggest club in every English county’ causing arguments among fans
A recent tweet has fans squabbling over the age-old argument of whose club is bigger.
A post by Copa90, created by user @craigDLyons, had a graphic showing the largest clubs in different regions of England.
But despite its glorious design, it has left some supporters fuming at some of the choices made.
There is, for instance, a Liverpool badge on Merseyside, while Blackburn Rovers trumps Preston North End and Burnley as the biggest club in Lancashire.
More divisively, Colchester City snubbed out Southend United as the biggest club in Essex, and Lincoln City beat Grimsby Town as the biggest in Lincolnshire.
Some foresaw the fume the graphic would generate.
One wrote: “Here's a tweet that definitely won't cause any arguments.”
Another raged: “Colchester are not bigger than Southend, and Lincoln are not a bigger club than Grimsby. And I am not even going to touch the Steel City debate.”
One reminded Chelsea fans why their club had been snubbed in favour of Arsena: “Lol so many pressed Chelsea fams. London had more Arsenal fans its a fact. Chelsea has more international fans i.e US. But Arsenal IS the club with the largest London fanbase. Deal with it.”
Someone wrote: “Guess someone just really wanted to do numbers. All seems fairly legit until you see Arsenal covering London.”

One quizzed the metrics in which the clubs claimed their stake: “I assume by the way (maybe I'm wrong?) that this is as measured by fan base? Or is there something else?”
While another complained about the geography used: “Except You’ve messed up the North East. Hartlepool is no administered by County Durham and Middlesbrough isn’t in North Yorkshire. They may sit in the respective county FA, but if you include Tyne and Wear, you must also include Teesside as well.”

Someone said: “Can’t be on history 1920 to 2020 in Football League or fan base for Essex as Southend United would be higher and bigger that Colchester United, must be done on standing in the pyramid.”
A last one was pulling their hair out over the choice of club in South Yorkshire: “Is this one of those parody accounts? Imagine thinking that Sheff Utd are bigger than Wednesday.”
