Phil Neville believes his Inter Miami side are a group ‘full of confidence’ despite a fourth loss in their opening six games in the new MLS season.

The manager remained upbeat following a 1-0 loss to FC Cincinnati Saturday.

Neville expressed his view that the performance in fact belied the final score.

‘I thought we were the better team by far. By far. … We deserved to get something out of the game. We deserved to win the game,’ Neville said postgame.

‘We’re a team that’s playing with so much belief, we’re a team that’s got great quality.’

The season is still in its embryonic stages, despite four consecutive losses, Neville is upbeat about the imminent future of the South Beach club.

‘Results aren’t going our way, that’s the frustrating bit, that’s the bit that we need to stop,’ he added.

‘That’s the bit that we need to focus on, but we’re not a team that’s wobbling, we’re a team that’s playing with full of confidence.’

Yerson Mosquera scored his first MLS goal on a header late in the first half before FC Cincinnati protected its lead.

Roman Celentano made three saves for the Orange and Blue as Miami pressed throughout the game.

Miami have lost three of its past four games by a single goal.

Neville was furious after his side’s defeat by Chicago Fire last week with rival coach Ezra Henderson saying they defend ‘narrow and leave the back post’. The Miami boss fired back at the ‘bulls***’ claims.

Up next, is a trip to Texas to face FC Dallas, who sit sixth in the Western Conference with eight points from six games.
