Peter Crouch has claimed Harry Kane is unsure about his own future at Tottenham this summer and suggested he should at the club.
Kane has continued to be a bright spark in a difficult season for the north london club, with 28 Premier League goals, only behind Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.
However, the England international has a year remaining on his current contract and Crouch says his option will be limited if he decides to leave at the end of the season.
Speaking to BT Sport ahead of Tottenham’s clash with Brentford, the former striker said: ‘I did ask him the question (is it his last home game for Spurs) and he was very diplomatic in his answer. I don’t think even he knows.
‘He might have ambitions to go somewhere else and potentially win a trophy but it’s not just down to him, he still has a year left.

‘There’s a man at the club that doesn’t want to lose his star player and what would it mean to these fans to lose a player of Kane’s calibre.
‘Where can he go? Manchester City City is sewn up now. Manchester United is the only real option I can see. You can’t go to Chelsea. You can’t go to Arsenal.
‘Newcastle is potentially an option but I still feel that’s a sideways move. Newcastle got great potential but I feel like he might as well stay at Tottenham.’
Since coming through their youth ranks, Kane has netted 278 times in 434 games for Spurs, including 211 goals in the Premier League – putting him second in the top flight’s all-time goalscoring records.
But he is yet to get a major trophy to his name and former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has suggested Kane should make his priorities clear.
‘You need the answer from him. We need to hear from Harry. He’s very guarded on what he wants to talk about regarding his future which is understandable,’ Ferdinand said.

‘It’s down to what he sees as the benchmark for his career. What does he want out of his career? Does he want to beat the personal accolades of being top goal scorer for England, a one club man at Spurs and dominating all the stats? Or does he want more onus on it being a team sport and winning things as a team?’
After enduring meek exits from the Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup this season, the club’s trophy drought has been extended to 15 years since they won the League Cup.
It has been a chaotic second half of the season for Spurs, with Antonio Conte sacked as boss after torching his relationship with his players, before his replacement and former assistant Cristian Stellini was dismissed after just four games.
