Pepe’s trick shot in Arsenal training catches the attention of fans

Nicolas Pepe's trick shot in Arsenal training has caught the eye – certainly with the fans.

The Ivory Coast international is in his second year at the Emirates but he is yet to showcase his talents.

The 25-year-old signed from Lille for a club-record £72m but has scored just nine Premier League goals so far.

However, Arsenal fans are desperate for the forward to come good at the Emirates.

And his actions in training certainly prove that the ability is there after a jaw-dropping trick shot that bamboozled his team-mates.

With a slight gap in the fence, Pepe nonchalantly dinked the ball through with ease using his left foot.

But fans are keen to see him put him more performances with some big games coming up for Arsenal.

The Gunners face Benfica in the Europa League this Thursday for the second leg of their tie.

The first leg finished 1-1 with Arsenal taking home a vital away goal but they must make sure of the result, with the Portuguese side no mugs in Europe.

One fan said: "Now he needs to turn up Thursday."

"He needs to find it on the pitch more often," another wrote.

This fan posted: "Bend it like Pepe?"

Arsenal's form in the Premier League has seen them crash down to 10th, with little hope of landing European football.

It means the Europa League is extra important as a potential gateway to the Champions League.

And Mikel Arteta recognises how vital that is to the club and has branded Thursday night "a final".

  • “The Europa League’s always been really important but obviously every defeat now in the league will put us in a difficult position,” Arteta said.

“We have to take it game by game, we need a run of games. I think we are having a big run of performances but we lost two or three games now in different ways and it’s not we want.

“We have a final on Thursday because we want to continue in the competition.

"We have to sleep, eat and we won’t have time to train, then we fly to Greece.”
