Wayne Rooney's red card at the World Cup infuriated England's masseuse so much that he couldn't look at the striker.
Rooney was sent off in England's quarter-final clash against Portugal in the Germany-held tournament after stamping on Ricardo Carvalho. The Three Lions battled on valiantly with 10-men in Rooney's absence but succumbed to a penalty shootout defeat.
The dressing room was engulfed by silence after the loss, and team therapist Rod Thornley was so disgusted by Rooney's actions that he couldn't bring himself to look at his close pal. Thornley revealed on the Under The Cosh podcast: "I was annoyed with Wayne, 'cos I knew he done it and I knew he got sent off.

"It was stupid, it was petulant, and it p***ed me off. We were close, and I couldn't look at him, but I just remember the whole dressing room being quiet, it was horrible getting knocked out of world cups, horrible in that dressing room."
Cristiano Ronaldo came under fire for his role in his role Rooney's sending-off when he implored the referee to dismiss his then Man United team-mate, and proceeded to wink when his demand was met.

However, Thornley insisted that the pair were good friends at Old Trafford as the whole squad was in harmony.
When asked about Rooney and Ronaldo's relationship, he added: "Yeah everyone at United was good mates, I never came across any factions at United, where players hated each other, they were close – they were good mates."
Meanwhile, Thornley formed his own bond with Rooney during his time at United and with England, and he fell victim to the DC United boss' skullduggery while they were on a flight back from the Three Lions' Euro 2004 campaign.
The pair were celebrating England's qualification for the tournament and ordered some shots, only for Rooney to throw his ones down the side while Thornley drank himself into such as state that he threw up on the plane and had to pushed out of the airport in a wheelchair by Gary Neville.
