Paul Scholes praises Arsenal's new £27m man Leandro Trossard
Paul Scholes claims Arsenal can win the Premier League if they make ‘two or three more signings’… as he praises the club’s new £27m man Leandro Trossard after his role in the last-gasp win over Man United
- Leandro Trossard will provide good attacking depth for Arsenal on the wing
- But Arsenal are working on other deals before the January window shuts
- The club are trying to beat Chelsea to Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo
Paul Scholes has hailed Arsenal’s work to sign winger Leandro Trossard, but believes the title challengers should be looking to add more depth before the end of the January transfer window.
The Gunners signed Trossard for £27m from Brighton, and the Belgian attacker made an instant impact on his debut for the club against Manchester United after coming on as a late substitute.
It was his well-weighted pass to Oleksandr Zinchenko that put the full-back into space before he delivered the cross that eventually led to Eddie Nketiah’s winner.

While Scholes has hailed the capture of Trossard as a ‘great signing,’ the 11-time Premier League winner knows the importance of depth and believes Arsenal should be looking to strengthen even more.
‘When you are going for titles, you need strong squads, you need players who can come in and replace players,’ Scholes told Premier League Productions.
‘Those players that come in might not always be as good as the starters, but they might even be better from the bench.
‘When Leandro Trossard came on for Gabriel Martinelli [vs United], I didn’t think it weakened Arsenal, it really didn’t.
‘So I think Trossard is a great signing. Two or three more would really boost this team to go on and win the Premier League.’

It seems that the Emirates brass agrees with the Manchester United legend.
The club has confirmed the £21m capture of centre-back Jakub Kiwior from Italian side Spezia, and they’re reportedly targeting other positions as well.
They’re said to be trying to hijack Chelsea’s move for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo, while Juventus and USA No. 8 Weston McKennie is reportedly of interest to them as well.
Furthermore, Arsenal are battling Borussia Dortmund for right-back Ivan Fresneda, with the teenager set to make a decision on his future in the next 24 hours.
The Gunners are five points clear of Manchester City in first place – with a game in hand – after beating United 3-2.
