Paul Pogba is reportedly set to make a U-turn on negotiations over a new contract at Manchester United, provided a condition around Ralf Rangnick is met. The Frenchman will see his deal expire at the end of the season and had been expected to move on from Old Trafford.
Pogba has endured an inconsistent second spell at the Red Devils, with the midfielder unable to produce regular good performances.
His time in Manchester has also been marred by frequent statements from his agent Mino Raiola suggesting he was not happy at United.
Both of those led many to expect Pogba to depart the Red Devils on a free transfer in the summer when his deal expires.
United were thought to have resigned themselves to losing him, with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain possible destinations.
But they have been given fresh hope that the World Cup winner could now change his stance and extend his stay at the club.

According to The Sun, Pogba is now ready to re-enter negotiations with United, provided they meet a key demand.
The report states that the Frenchman is now ‘open to staying’ at Old Trafford, but only if Ralf Rangnick is made the permanent manager.
Rangnick currently holds the post of interim boss and is set to transition into a consultancy role at the end of the season.
Despite inconsistent performances, United have only lost once since the German replaced Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the Old Trafford hotseat.

And it appears he has been having a separate impact on Pogba, which is set to boost United’s hopes of keeping him.
It is stated that Rangnick has held a number of talks with the French international, which has left Pogba ‘impressed’.
Their discussions have now led to Pogba deciding that he could stay at Old Trafford if Rangnick becomes the permanent manager.
Rangnick is said to have convinced Pogba that he is ready to build a team and a midfield around him when he returns from injury.
Pogba is yet to play under Rangnick having spent more than two months on the sidelines with an injury.
He is set to return to action in early February and if he impresses, contract talks could get back underway.
United’s interim boss hopes that Pogba can play another important role, with the squad having fractured in recent months.
But Rangnick believes that Pogba can be a ‘galvanising force’ in a new leadership position, which the player himself is said to be excited about taking.
