Paul Pogba leads tributes to agent Mino Raiola after tragic death aged 54
Manchester United and France midfielder Paul Pogba has led the tributes to football super agent Mino Raiola following his tragic passing at the age of just 54 this week.
The news of Raiola's passing came just days after false reports he had died on Thursday. His Twitter account had said: "Current health status for the ones wondering: p***** off second time in 4 months they kill me. Seem also able to resuscitate."
Raiola, who had made his name as the most recognisable agent on the planet thanks to his work with Pavel Nedved, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Erling Haaland among others, also had a long-term client in Pogba. The 29-year-old has since offered his condolences to the family of Raiola, while mourning the loss of his close friend.
Alongside a video of the pair, Pogba wrote: "Always in my heart. Thank you Mimi."
That came after an official statement read: "In infinite sorrow we share the passing of the most caring and amazing football agent that ever was.
"Mino fought until the end with the same strength he put on negotiation tables to defend our planers. As usual, Mino made us proud and never realised it. Mino touched so many lives through his work and wrote a new chapter in the history of modern football.
"His presence will forever be missed.
"Mino's mission of making football a better place for planers will continue with the same passion.
"We thank everybody for the huge amount of support received during these difficult times and ask for respect to the privacy of family and friends in this moment of grief."
