Paul Pogba hails Manchester United’s team performance against Burnley
Paul Pogba credited the team performance after the 1-0 win over Burnley which sent Manchester United top of the Premier League.
The Red Devils moved clear of champions Liverpool with the three points, five days before the teams meet at Anfield in a huge clash at the top.
Pogba netted the decisive goal with a firmly struck volley which took a deflection past Nick Pope, but the midfielder also felt Harry Maguire’s first-half header – ruled out for a push on a defender as he jumped – should have stood to give United a more comfortable margin of victory.

“We know it’s not easy to play here and we’re happy with the three points, but we have to focus until the end of the season,” he told Sky Sports.
“It’s hard [to keep focus with VAR decisions] but you have to be professional. [Maguire’s] was a goal for sure, a beautiful goal but the referee made that decision, [it was] strange today.
“The game was going both ways, their style of play is very strong and it was a great performance from everyone.”

On the title race, Pogba maintained that there was little point in getting carried away with more than half of the season remaining, though was delighted to play a part in sending his team into first place.
“I’m always happy when I win! I’m happy we played well and we are top but there’s a long way to go so we have to focus on that too.”
United travel to Liverpool on Sunday, with the hosts currently winless in three league games.
They will also face each other in the FA Cup fourth round, with that fixture set to take place at Old Trafford.
