Patrick Vieira refuses to comment after kicking Everton fan in ugly footage
Patrick Vieira refused to comment after a video emerged of him appearing to kick an Everton fan on Thursday night.
The Crystal Palace manager was caught on camera lashing out at a supporter. Vieira was goaded by the fan and appeared to retaliate by going to grab him and then kicking out during a pitch invasion. When Vieira was asked about the incident, he said: "I’ve got nothing to say on that." Everton fans invaded the pitch after Dominic Calvert-Lewin headed in a late winner to secure the Toffees safety.
They were cleared off so the game could be finished after Frank Lampard’s side came from 2-0 down to win 3-2.
But thousands flocked onto the pitch at the final whistle to celebrate with supporters.
It follows ugly scenes earlier in the week after Nottingham Forest’s Championship play-off semi-final win over Sheffield United when Blades striker Billy Sharp was headbutted by a fan.
Former Manchester United and Aston Villa striker Dion Dublin criticised supporters for going on the pitch.

He said: “Having fans on the pitch is not the way forward, we have to stop letting fans on the pitch.
“You can't have players in fear of their lives if players are on the pitch. For any players or member of staff on the pitch, it's a scary place to be."
Everton boss Frank Lampard said of the incident: "I feel for Patrick.
"I didn't get him at the end. I would have said, 'come in with us' – although he might not have wanted that. Of course, he ran 80 yards across the pitch and it's not easy.
"It was pure elation of fans who have come on the pitch after avoiding relegation. If it is done in the right way let them stay on the pitch, let them have their moment.
"As long as they behave, no problem."
