Olivier Giroud details Frank Lampard wish amid Chelsea manager uncertainty
Olivier Giroud has launched a staunch defence of Frank Lampard – and he hopes the under-fire Chelsea manager will get involved in training sessions more often.
Lampard's future hangs in the balance after his side suffered its fourth defeat in six Premier League games at the hands of Manchester City on Sunday.
Chelsea are understood to have already begun the search for his replacement, meaning his days in the Stamford Bridge hot seat could be numbered.
But Giroud insists Lampard – who is two-and-a-half years into his management career – has "a lot of qualities", and he'd like the former England midfielder to take an active role in training.
"It’s nice to have a young manager so even if he will still learn all through his career, he’s already got a lot of qualities to manage a team," Giroud told Stadium Astro .
"I wish he could join a bit more in circles to play with us but his knee is not right right now so hopefully will get better soon and we can play with him.

"He’s got good ideas and for me it’s always nice to have a manager who was a big player, who has won a lot of things. He can always make you improve."
Despite the speculation on his future, Lampard insisted he was unfazed as he spoke after the 3-1 home defeat by City.
"I’m not concerned on that point," said the Blues boss, adding: "The pressure remains constant in this job and you know in tough moments that will be there. I didn’t get into this job being unaware of that.
"My job is to keep working, my job is to try and lift the players who would have felt that in the first half.
"They would have felt the differences of City and their receiving of the ball and their individual ability to take the ball in tight areas. We’re fighting to try and match those levels and I know it takes time."
