Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says PGMOL have ADMITTED two key decisions that went against Man United in loss to Sheffield United last week were WRONG… as he says ‘big momentum shift’ went against his title chasers

- Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said match delegate admitted two decisions were wrong
- David de Gea felt he was barged by Billy Sharp as Kean Bryan headed opener
- Solskjaer’s side then saw a goal disallowed after Harry Maguire fouled keeper

- After 0-0 draw at Arsenal, they host Southampton in big game on Tuesday night
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that the match delegate for Manchester United’s shock defeat to Sheffield United at Old Trafford last week confirmed that his team were on the end of two wrong decisions.
The Blades’ opening goal was allowed to stand even though replays showed that Billy Sharp barged into David de Gea before Kean Bryan headed in.
Then United had an equaliser by Anthony Martial ruled out by referee Peter Bankes and his assistants for a similar incident when Harry Maguire challenged goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale at the other end.
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he has seen the referee’s report from last week’s game with Sheffield United and feels his team were hard done by
Kean Bryan (second right) opened the scoring for Sheffield United as they beat Manchester United 2-1 at Old Trafford last Wednesday
But the nature of the goal proved controversial as Billy Sharp appeared to foul David de Gea by pushing him in the back in the moments before the goal was scored
VAR reviewed both incidents and decided there was no clear and obvious error because they were borderline, and United went on to lose 2-1 to their bottom-of-the-table opponents.
However, Solskjaer says that he has seen the report from the match delegate – who is usually a former player or manager unlike the referee’s assessor – and he claimed that both decisions were incorrect.
‘The momentum shifted for us with the Sheffield United game,’ said Solskjaer ahead of Tuesday’s match at home to Southampton.
‘I don’t like to bring these up but I’ve got the delegate’s report on the referee and the two decisions were wrong.
Minutes later, Harry Maguire was deemed to have fouled Sheff Utd keeper Aaron Ramsdale
Although Anthony Martial tucked away the finish, the foul was given before the ball hit the net

‘They’ve admitted their goal should have been disallowed and our goal should have stood. That’s a big, big momentum changer for us.
‘You’re more likely to, when you go 1-0 up rather than 1-0 down, go on and win that game. So that’s fine margins and it has been the way this season.
‘You hit the post, it goes in or it goes out. Sometimes you’re lucky with decisions, sometimes you’re not. We’ve got to focus on this game and I’m sure the results and performances will come.’
United struggled to find the net again in a goalless draw at Arsenal on Sunday and have now dropped seven points in the last four games.
Solskjaer admitted that it is something they are working hard to put right, but the quick turnaround time between games makes that difficult.
‘There’s not been time to do a lot on the training pitch,’ he added. ‘The boys who played are still on the recovery track from Saturday night but they have to prepare for the game tomorrow night. It’s right in between for them.
‘The session was light but they some scored goals. We want to get that mojo back, that spark. We created enough chances to score the goals now it’s about feeling good, taking a deep breath and putting the ball between the posts.’
