The New York Red Bulls don’t appear to be in the race for Neymar, according to a new report.
The Brazilian has been linked to MLS in recent days with Fabrizio Romano reporting there was ‘concrete’ interest in the winger coming from the league.
But that interest doesn’t appear to be coming from the Red Bulls, as a source told amNewYork that a move for the 31-year-old was ‘unlikely.’
The Red Bulls have had a difficult MLS season, as head coach Gerhard Struber was fired in May and new singing Dante Vanzeir was suspended six games for using racist language. The club is currently 11th place in the Eastern Conference.
A team spokesperson declined to comment to Mail Sport.
The club most likely to land Neymar in MLS may be LAFC, as Romano previously reported the club in particular was interested in the player.

According to L’Equipe, either LAFC or the Los Angeles Galaxy has made an approach to sign Neymar.
Crucially, though, the Galaxy do not have an open designated player spot on their roster, while their cross-town rivals LAFC do.
Romano also said in his latest Daily Briefing for CaughtOffside that Neymar’s preference is to return to Barcelona, though no decision has yet been made by the Catalan side.
Saudi Arabia is also said to be a potential destination for the Brazilian.
While Neymar’s next destination is not yet decided, it does look like he’ll be leaving PSG after six years.
L’Equipe reported that the two parties have ‘agreed to find a common solution before the end of the transfer window.’
