Nuno Espirito Santo insists his Tottenham dressing room was unaffected by the Harry Kane saga after creating ‘a shield that protects us.’
Talisman Kane handed Spurs a huge boost this week by confirming he will be staying this summer.
Though his well-documented attempts to force through a move to champions Manchester City had the potential to destabilise Nuno’s group.

He said: ‘I think we’ve been able to deal well, with outside things that you cannot control and the expectations.
‘You cannot control that but I think we’ve been able to deal pretty well with these situations in creating a shield that protects us, realising that there’s some things that we cannot control.
‘On those terms I think we have to keep insisting and make it stronger, but nothing can affect our relationship.’
Kane was back in Spurs’s starting line-up for the first time last night against Pacos de Ferreira, and captain, marking the occasion with two goals.
With his immediate future now settled, Nuno said: ‘We speak on a daily basis like we do with all the players. The message is for everyone. Let’s get ready to help the team.’
