Norwich fans were left outraged after Bukayo Saka escaped punishment for a stamp on Brandon Williams during 5-0 mauling on Sunday.
The England international was perceived to deliberately stamp on Manchester United loanee Williams in the 52nd minute of Arsenal’s win.
VAR and the officials ruled that Saka unintentionally landed his studs on the full-back’s thigh and decided it was not worth a closer look.

But the Canaries supporters on social media begged to differ with some believing Saka deserved a red card.
‘How’s Saka not got a red for a clear stamp on Williams and how did Norwich not get a penalty when lacazette pulled someone back,’ Joe Holdway wrote.
‘Absolutely disgraceful stamp from Saka on Brandon Williams. Can’t believe that’s not been reviewed for a red card. The boy is out of control,’ United Dean shared.

Flying High up In The Sky moaned: ‘Var is so obviously corrupt. Clear stamp by saka and mclean clearly pulled back’.
‘VAR and officials is having a day of today. Saka confirms it with the little stamp to check,’ claimed Shafiq Sulong.
While, Blocky Balboa pointed out: ‘Saka lucky he didn’t get sent off for that stamp, if Xhaka did that he’d be walking.’
Other supporters claimed Saka was lucky to avoid a red card as they criticised VAR’s decision
Other supporters claimed Saka was let off easily because Williams did not ‘make a meal’ of the incident.
They said that if the defender had ‘screamed and rolled around’ following the stamp then VAR would have had a different verdict.
‘Also dirty he didn’t make more of the stamp from Saka,’ Chris Barnard wrote. ‘Imagine we did that they would be screaming and rolling around.’
Another posted: ‘That’s a red card for Saka. He’s very luck Brandon Williams didn’t make a meal of that. VAR would 1000% have sent him off. ‘

While some Arsenal fans conceded it merited a red card, they also admitted they were ‘lowkey happy’ Saka stamped on Williams.
‘Saka gets some rough treatment man,’ one wrote. ‘How many times has he been clearly fouled but nothing given?
‘Was lowkey happy he did a little stamp in retaliation.. even if it should have been a red. The referee had a shocker today.’

The add insult to injury, the 20-year-old went on to score his second and Arsenal’s third goal in the 67th minute.
Saka had opened the scoring just six minutes into the game before Kieran Tierney doubled the Gunners’ lead before the break.
Saka’s second, an Alexandre Lacazette penalty and late Emile Smith Rowe strike wrapped up the 5-0 mauling for Mikel Arteta’s side who remain in fourth.
