No Haaland, no party!': Fans react as Man City draw 0-0 in Copenhagen
‘No Haaland, no party!’: Fans react to Man City failing to score without their star striker… as Pep Guardiola’s side are held to a goalless draw by Copenhagen in the Champions League
- Manchester City played Copenhagen in the Champions League on Tuesday
- Erling Haaland was left on the bench by Pep Guardiola for the whole match
- City failed to find a breakthrough and had to settle for a goalless draw
- Fans feel City missed Haaland after failing to score for the first time this term
Fans feel that Manchester City missed Erling Haaland after the striker was an unused substitute in their 0-0 draw with Copenhagen in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Haaland has scored 20 goals in just 12 matches this season since joining from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, but he was rested by Pep Guardiola in Denmark, with City already on the brink of qualifying from their group.
City had a Rodri goal disallowed after a handball by Riyad Mahrez in the build-up, while the Algerian winger then went on to miss a penalty later in the first half. With City unable to find a breakthrough, a number of fans took to Twitter to point out that City looked to be struggling without Haaland.

A fan claimed there is ‘no party’ for Man City when Haaland isn’t playing
Another said leaving Haaland out means there are ‘no goals’ for City
‘No Haaland no party,’ one fan wrote on social media.
‘No Haaland = No goals,’ another supporter claimed.
Meanwhile, there was even harsher criticism from one fan who stated: ‘Manchester City are useless without HAALAND.’
Heading into their match in Copenhagen, City had scored 11 goals in their previous three group matches, but they were unable to find the net this time as they had to settle for a point.
One supporter joked that City looked like the Williams car without Haaland in their team, in a reference to the team who currently sit bottom of the constructor standings in Formula One.
‘MAN CITY without HAALAND is like a WILLIAMS F1 car,’ they wrote.
City were reduced to 10 men in the first half when Sergio Gomez was given his marching orders for committing a foul when he was the last man.
Guardiola then resisted the temptation to bring Haaland on after the break, despite knowing that a win would guarantee his side’s passage through to the last 16.

BT Sport pundit Owen Hargreaves felt there was no need for City to be concerned after failing to score, and believes the team will be happy to have earned a point after playing with 10 men for an hour.
‘I think they played their normal game. The red card completely changed the game. They had a goal disallowed which should have been allowed. They had a penalty saved.
‘In the end, they could have won [by] 2 or 3, but when the red card happened, they just kept the clean sheet, shut up shop, no injuries and just get ready for the next one. They’re going to finish top of the group, there’s no question about that,’ he said.
Haaland is almost certain to be back in City’s starting XI when they return to Premier League action against rivals Liverpool on Sunday.
