Newcastle United have made a three-year contract offer to Aaron Ramsey and a January transfer is ‘realistic’, according to reports. Ramsey has struggled with fitness and injury problems throughout his time at Juventus. And the former Arsenal star could be set for a return to the Premier League with the Magpies.
Newcastle currently sit 19th in the table, three points from safety.
And the majority of teams around them have games in hand due to recent postponements.
The club’s new owners need to act fast in the January window to bolster Eddie Howe’s squad.
Wales star Ramsey has been strongly linked with a move to St James’ Park.

And it appears a move could be on the cards as early as next month.
Speaking on Reach PLC’s Transfer Window podcast, Ian McGarry has revealed the details of Newcastle’s contract offer to Ramsey.
There is no mention of how much Juventus would want for the 30-year-old, but it was reported earlier this month they would allow him to leave for free due to his high wage demands.
McGarry said: “Newcastle United have made an offer of a three-year contract, we understand the salary would be around £150,000 per week basic plus bonuses, with a year’s option on that three-year deal.

“Something which would be certainly a pay cut for the Wales star, however also at his age probably quite attractive on the basis that that contract could extend to his 34th birthday and therefore be very lucrative in that sense, as well as the fact of course he has had very minimal game time with Juventus this season, and indeed since he moved to Turin generally speaking.
“Therefore swapping the black and white of the Old Lady for the black and white of the Toon may well be something that is attractive to him.
“And also as far as our information at the Transfer Window podcast is concerned, it is a realistic proposition that it may well happen in January.”
Meanwhile, Newcastle boss Howe has admitted the difficulty his club face in trying to bring targets to the club in January.
“I think there are a few challenges we face,” Howe said.
“The availability of players: will they come with our current league position? Which is a concern.
“January is notoriously very difficult. I found that as a manager all through my time, so they’re the challenges we’re going to work under, but we’re going to do our best to find a solution.”
