Jorge Mendes has already held transfer talks with Newcastle over the prospect of bringing Cristiano Ronaldo to St James’ Park, according to reports. The super-agent is now expected to ramp up his attempts to find his star client a new club with Manchester United expected to force him out of the door following his bombshell interview with Piers Morgan.
Ronaldo is no longer idolised by United supporters after he heavily criticised the club and Erik ten Hag before accusing the Red Devils of disrespecting him earlier this summer, when CR7 tried to leave.
The 37-year-old veteran eventually stayed put beyond his wish but now his United career is dwindling towards a natural conclusion with both parties now keen to cut their losses.
United’s legal team are already exploring the prospect of freeing Ronaldo from his contract (which expires next summer) prematurely.
According to The Mail, agent Mendes is already trying to ignite talks with other clubs in a bid to find the forward a new challenge at the height of European football.

The report claims there was dialogue between Mendes and Newcastle as recently as last month, although it is currently unclear whether that is indeed true or whether the Magpies would hold any interest in signing CR7.
Mendes offered Ronaldo to the likes of Bayern Munich, Napoli, Chelsea, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Sporting last summer but nobody would oblige.
While Chelsea’s co-owner Todd Boehly has long-standing interest in signing Ronaldo, Graham Potter is expected to swerve any temptation to make a deal happen.
The Blues head coach is keen to build an exciting project for the future – meaning Ronaldo does not align with his vision.

Ten Hag is now expected to block Ronaldo from ever playing for United again following his controversial comments.
United will now ramp up their attempts to sign a replacement and it’s understood they’re even willing to make a surprise attempt to land Kylian Mbappe.
The France international is thought to be unhappy at Paris Saint-Germain – despite signing a bumper contract extension back in May.
In doing so, Mbappe all but ended his hopes of joining Real Madrid, who were left frustrated by his last-minute change of heart.
Liverpool are also admirers of Mbappe but Jurgen Klopp has already conceded that they cannot finance a deal, while United are one of few clubs in world football that probably can.
Mbappe is set to decide his club future after the World Cup but there is a chance he could look to explore an exit as soon as January.
United are also said to be admirers of Victor Osimhen, while Harry Kane remains a player of huge interest.
Kane’s Tottenham contract is due to expire in the summer of 2024 meaning Spurs could now be braced for offers for their talisman.
