Newcastle United fans have slammed Jack Grealish for his 'karma' Miguel Almiron comments after the Paraguayan scored against Manchester City on Sunday evening.

After falling behind early on to Ilkay Gundogan, Newcastle hit back through the Paraguayan international – after the goal had briefly been chalked off. Newcastle raced into a two-goal lead, before City battled back in the final 30 minutes to draw.

And Newcastle fans were quick to hit out at Grealish, who missed the game through injury after he aimed shots at Almiron in May. The Toon Army joked that Grealish missing the game and Almiron staring was 'karma' for his comments.

One fan tweeted: "Bernardo and Grealish made fun of Almiron only for the guy to come score against them… karma truly is a b****."

"Miguel Almirón scoring against Man City after Grealish slating him is a beautiful kind of karma," a second added. While a third tweeted: "After this match Almirón needs to come out after this match and say, at least I didn’t play like Grealish!"

A fourth joked: "Almiron is so good he managed to outplay Grealish without him even being there."

When celebrating City's Premier League success last season, Grealish joked that Pep Guardiola was right to sub off Riyad Mahrez.

The £100million man said: "Riyad [Mahrez]: take him off as soon as possible… he played like [Miguel] Almiron." Grealish had appeared in the video with Bernardo Silva, who was involved on Sunday afternoon.
