Newcastle fan gets Bruno Guimaraes tattoo and grandson shows it to star signing

Bruno Guimaraes was delighted to see that a Newcastle fan had a picture of his face tattooed on his arm.

The Brazilan midfielder has only made two appearances for the side – making cameos in the club’s wins over Everton and Aston Villa at St James’ Park.

But that’s not stopped a fervent fan – a Geordie granddad – from deciding to get his arm inked up with the player’s face.

Bruno found out about the tattoo when the grandson, Owen Southern, posted a picture of it online, saying: "As if me granda has just went and got a Bruno tattoo."

The Brazil international shared it on his Insta story and gave it a ringing endorsement, accompanying the picture along with two starry-eyed emojis.

Newcastle currently have a relegation battle on their hands – but Bruno, speaking when he joined the club, announced his lofty ambitions of reaching the Champions League – and beyond.

He told Newcastle's official website: "Of course, it's my dream. I can't stand losing, I get really annoyed with any type of defeat, on and off the pitch.

"I'm obsessed with winning. Given Newcastle's project, all the information they provided me with, we’ll have a great team here – as it was for a long time in the past.

Do you think Newcastle will win the Champions League with Bruno? Let us know in the comments section.

"We want more, we want to win the Champions League."

"The fans can expect a lot of desire and determination. Goals aren't the strongest part of my game.

"I'll get the team moving and contribute to playing the ball out with quality. It’s good that it’s clear that Newcastle have signed a midfielder, not an attacker."

Newcastle enjoyed a 1-0 victory over Aston Villa last Sunday – with Kieran Trippier’s free-kick in the first-half being the difference.

It means the Magpies are on a three-game winning streak ahead of their match with West Ham at the London Stadium in the early kick on Saturday.
