Former Arsenal and Manchester City star Samir Nasri attracted plenty of attention earlier this week after pictures of him looking a little bit beefier than usual went viral online.
Nasri turned out for a 'Legends of Marseille' team against a UNICEF XI coached by his former manager Arsene Wenger in a charity game at the Stade Velodrome.
Social media users were quick to point out a difference in the winger's appearance, with the Frenchman having seemingly put on some excess weight following his retirement.
Fans cruelly mocked Nasri's new slightly more rotund body shape on Twitter, while one of his former team-mates aimed a more playful dig after the match.
Asked about the former Arsenal player's appearance, Lorik Cana, who played with Nasri at Marseille, replied: "Didn't you see, they came together, there is Samir and Nasri".
Nasri, though, was quick to fire back, joking: "I would have liked to give him a corner as against Paris but he could only play five minutes…"
Twitter users were less kind about his appearance.
"Samir Nasri is currently playing in a friendly with Marseille. Seems to be enjoying retirement," one fan tweeted.

While another added: "Honestly thought that picture of Samir Nasri was fake."
In his heyday, Nasri was renowned for his quick movement, neat control of the ball and passing ability, as well as his deadly direct free-kicks.
The midfielder impressed in three seasons at Arsenal before causing fury among the club's fanbase by moving to Man City in 2011.
Under Roberto Mancini, he helped the Cityzens to their first Premier League title, adding another two seasons later.
After five successful years at the Etihad he joined Sevilla on loan in 2017, before switching to Turkish side Antalyaspor the following season.
He later returned to the Premier League with West Ham but failed to make any real impact before joining final club Anderlecht.
Nasri made seven appearances for the Belgian club but was released in the summer of 2020.
