Jose Mourinho’s spat with Gareth Bale looks set to cause the winger to leave Tottenham Hotspur less than a year after re-joining the Premier League side.
The Portuguese manager has had multiple fall outs during his spells in charge of Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester United and now Spurs.
They have ranged from players struggling with injury to veterans and club legends, as well as global superstars.
Player spats are one of the main themes of a Mourinho spell as manager, with his latest one threatening to see Bale depart White Hart Lane.
Here we round up Mourinho’s biggest fallings out.
Dele Alli

The midfielder has played just 100 minutes of Premier League football this season and has been continually left on the bench or even out of the squad by Mourinho.
Mourinho has called Alli an ‘unhappy’ player and accused him of not fighting for his place in the Spurs team.
Alli was linked with a departure from White Hart Lane in the January transfer window, but ended up staying in London.
Luke Shaw
Shaw had a tough relationship with Mourinho, making just 34 appearances during his time in charge of Manchester United.
Mourinho routinely singled Shaw out for criticism when he was selected, as the defender struggled for form and fitness.
“He was in front of me and I was making every decision for him. He has to change his football brain,” the then United boss said following a 1-1 draw with Everton in April 2017.
Shaw has since experienced a resurgence in form, becoming one of the Premier League’s stand-out left backs and recently credited Mourinho’s harsh words as the inspiration behind his improvement.
Iker Casillas

In his final season at Real Madrid, Mourinho had a stunning spat with club legend Casillas, dropping him for Madrid's 3-2 defeat to Malaga in December 2012.
Mourinho stuck to his guns for the next game, selecting Antonio Adan in goal before Casillas returned after he was sent off.
Casillas continued in goal once Adan returned from suspension, until he broke his hand in a Copa del Rey tie against Valencia.
The day after that game, Marca ran a front cover which said Casillas, Sergio Ramos and one other player went to Florentino President to demand that Mourinho leave in the coming summer.
The reports were denied, but the spat took another twist when Madrid brought in Sevilla keeper Diego Lopez in the January transfer window.
Lopez would go on to become Mourinho’s first choice keeper, with Casillas left on the bench for the rest of his time in charge at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Sergio Ramos

Alongside Casillas, Ramos was one player who stood up to Mourinho more than the rest, and was reportedly involved in telling club president Perez that Mourinho had to go.
Ramos had other problems with Mourinho, as he questioned his coach's decision to publicly criticise his players in the press.
The Spanish defender was duly dropped for the Champions League clash at home to Manchester City days later.
Cristiano Ronaldo

After the spats with Casillas and Ramos, Mourinho turned his ire to Madrid’s superstar attacker Ronaldo.
In a clear reference to Ronadlo’s struggles at the start of the 2012/2013 season, Mourinho said, "We started the league [in a] sad [state], and because we were sad, we lost points.”
It appeared to be misguided criticism, with Ronaldo playing through injury in Madrid’s Champions League tie against Borussia Dortmund.
Already angered by the treatment of Casillas and Ramos, Madrid fans jeered Mourinho when his name was announced at the Bernabeu.
Eden Hazard

Mourinho reportedly fell out with the winger in the wake of his second sacking by Chelsea in 2015, mere months after he won the Premier League with them.
Hazard’s performances during the 2015/2016 season largely disappointing, with his manager routinely singling him out for criticism, questioning his work rate and effort for the team.
Both have since moved to deny the reports, with Hazard even texting Mourinho an apology after he was dismissed.
Gareth Bale
Jose Mourinho's biggest shot yet at Gareth Bale in brutal response to social media post
The Welshman re-joined Spurs on loan in the summer transfer window but has endured a difficult time since moving back to White Hart Lane.
Bale has been restricted to just six Premier League appearances under Mourinho, with his latest post on Instagram angered the Spurs boss.
Mourinho claimed Bale contradicted him by posting the message "Good session today" alongside an image of him during a training session.
And that could spell the end of Bale’s time at Spurs, with Defensa Central claiming that Mourinho has expressed his "discontent" and "disappointment" with Bale to Madrid president Perez.
