Morocco booked their place in the Women’s World Cup last-16 on their tournament debut after beating Colombia 1-0 in Perth.
Anissa Lahmari scored the winner for the African nation after Ghizlane Chebbak saw her penalty saved.
The Moroccan squad held on to seal a narrow win against their South American opponents, but were still left waiting on Germany’s result.
Germany were drawing 1-1 with South Korea as their match entered 11 minutes of added time, with the Euro 2020 runners-up requiring a win to advance.
After the full-time whistle sounded in their match, the Moroccan squad were seen gathering around a phone to watch the final minutes of Germany’s game.

Germany’s failure to score saw Morocco seal a place in the last-16 as Group H runners-up, with Colombia advancing as winners.
World No 2 Germany ranked had thrashed Morocco 6-0 in their opening match of the tournament.
Morocco bounced back from the defeat by beating South Korea 1-0, before repeating the scoreline against Colombia.
Germany finished third in the group after mustering only four points from their three matches, following a 2-1 loss to Colombia and the draw against South Korea.
It marked it the first time the two-time winners have been eliminated from the group stages at the Women’s World Cup, with the German press labelling their exit as a ‘disgrace’.
Morocco become the first Arab and North African nation to advance to the knock-out stage of the tournament.

‘Historical moment as our women’s national team advances to the next round of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand.’
Reynald Pedros’ side will now face France in the last-16 of the competition on Tuesday in Adeliade.
