    Moises Caicedo will surely anger Liverpool fans after a comment he made following his historic transfer to Chelsea worth a whopping £115million.

    In a saga that has captured the football world for the past few days, it's the west London club who've had the last laugh as they secured their long-standing target for a British transfer record fee.

    The Ecuadorian midfielder never wavered from his decision to join Chelsea, even when Jurgen Klopp announced Liverpool had agreed a £111m deal with Brighton for the 21-year-old's services.

    Caicedo has now been granted his wish and, in his first interview since officially joining the club today (August 14), he said he "didn't have to think twice" about signing for the club, an admission which would surely bruise the ego of Liverpool fans.

    “I am so happy to join Chelsea! I am so excited to be here at this big club and I didn’t have to think twice when Chelsea called me," he said via Chelsea.com.

    "I just knew I wanted to sign for the club. It’s a dream come true to be here and I can’t wait to get started with the team."

    It's been quite the double whammy for Liverpool fans as The Athletic reported that Southampton star Romeo Lavia has chosen to join Chelsea, despite Liverpool's pursuit of him.

    Jurgen Klopp's side are now set to miss out on their two key midfield targets and remain without a defensive midfielder with just two weeks to go in the summer transfer window.

    In further news that will only aid to anger Reds fan even more, Caicedo admitted that he supported the Chelsea players in their 1-1 draw with Liverpool on Sunday (August 13).

    "I watched the game at the hotel, and I supported the players from there," he said.

    "The team was so good. I enjoyed it a lot. The new Chelsea players did really well. I wanted to be on the pitch with them! I like the style of football, it’s good for me. I am sure I am going to adapt very quickly.

    "I don’t hope, I am sure we are going to win a lot of titles with this amazing club, to put Chelsea where they deserve to be."
