Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has claimed he will be at Anfield next season ‘for sure’ amid doubts over his future – and insists he is ‘motivated through the roof’ to get revenge on Real Madrid in the Champions League final.

Salah’s contract is set to expire at the end of next season and his team have had difficulties agreeing a new deal with the club – reportedly turning down a contract worth around £400,000-a-year.

The Egyptian star has enjoyed a sensational season – sharing the golden boot award with Son Heung-min after firing in 23 goals – and his incredible displays have already led the Reds to Carabao Cup and FA Cup success this season as they hunt the treble against Real Madrid this weekend.

The club have struggled to agree a new deal with the Egyptian, whose deal expires in 2023

And Salah moved to remove any immediate doubts about his future ahead of the crucial game as he pledge his commitment to Liverpool next term and said his full focus was getting his hands on Europe’s grand prize.

‘I’m staying next season, that’s for sure,’ he told the media. ‘I’m staying next season. I am only thinking about winning the Champions League and I want to see Hendo [Jordan Henderson] lifting the trophy again.’

Liverpool have a score to settle with Los Blancos after they were swept aside by them in the 2018 final, losing 3-1 in a game that saw Salah go off injured in the first half of the game.

Salah described it as the lowest moment of his career and said he was ‘motivated through the roof to recify it.

‘I am very motivated,’ he added. ‘After what happened with Madrid last time and after what happened on Sunday everyone is motivated to win the Champions League. Everybody is excited for it.

He admitted he was desperate to see captain Jordan Henderson lifting the trophy once again

‘[The 2018 final] was the worst moment of my career. I was really down. The worst thing that could happen to any football player.

‘I’ve never had that feeling before in football.’

Salah’s will be a free agent in 2023 as things stand and his future has been the subject of considerable speculation in recent months, but the issue is not something he wants to discuss ahead of this weekend’s showpiece.

The Egyptian said: ‘In my mind I don’t focus on the contract at the moment. I don’t want to be selfish.’

Mane, meanwhile, refused to gives any assurances over his future and said he would give an answer after the Champions League final.

He said: ‘For sure it will be special to win it, and make it seven (European titles for the club),’ he said. ‘And this question (my future) I will answer after the Champions League. Stay or not – I’ll answer after the Champions League’.

He said he was ‘motivated through the roof’ to beat Real after the ‘worst moment of his career’ in the 2018 final as he went off injured against them in the first half

And, unlike Salah, the 30-year-old insisted it would not be a revenge mission for him personally, after Salah’s claims he wanted to put right the agony of the 2018 match, which saw the Egyptian go off injured after a poor tackle from Real’s Sergio Ramos.

He added: ‘For me, it’s not revenge, for sure it’s not revenge. Four years in between, a lot of things have changed – the way we deal with games, experience, we have more quality in the team, so it’s an exciting game.

‘We all forgot about what happened in 2018. For sure Real Madrid were the better team and fully deserved to win the final, and congratulations, but it’s going to be a different game.

‘There’s no pressure, nothing, at all. Just to enjoy. It’s a dream moment for us so let’s enjoy it without making pressure for ourselves because it doesn’t help… everybody is fully confident, which is amazing.’
