Minamino’s celebration after Norwich brace sends Reds fans wild

If there is anything in football, fans enjoy more than a goal itself, it is often the celebrations proceeding the ball hitting the back of the net, as was evidenced with Takumi Minamino's actions after his goal against Norwich in the Carabao Cup earlier this week.

The attacker scored the opener against Premier League strugglers after just four minutes at Carrow Road, sparking wild celebrations in the away end.

And the Japan international wheeled away in celebrations of his own, much to the delight of Reds fans.

After scoring his first goal for the club since returning from a loan spell with Southampton, Minamino cheered in celebration and pointed at the Liverpool badge.

Needless to say, Reds’ fans have been purring, not just over his performance, but about his passion and love for the club.

One Reds fan posted online: "This was such a sweet moment, hope he gets more chances, he played really well today!"

Another Liverpool supporter wrote: "Happy for taki with his goal!! Score more!!!"

"So happy for him," another wrote.

Another passionate fan said: "Taki was very good tonight even when he had to switch with ox into midfield he could be very good in that role for us this year."

Starts have been difficult to come by for the Japanese international since his arrival at the club.

The 26-year-old winger joined in January 2020 in an £8million move from RB Salzburg.

What can Liverpool achieve this season? Comment below

He has only made 32 fleeting appearances for The Reds, with most of those coming from the bench. A loan move to Southampton was arranged for the Japanese winger in January last season, where he made 10 appearances, scoring two goals.

But he looks to be a more complete player since his return, and his two goals against the Canaries were both finishes of an accomplished and instinctive attacker.

Divock Origi also scored a nice header against Daniel Farke’s side to double Liverpool’s lead.

The Belgian looked certain to leave the club in the summer, but he remained with Klopp’s side after a buyer could not be found.

However, his assist for Minamino’s first goal, as well as his diving header, means he is now up to one goal and two assists in just three appearances.

Both players’ early performances and statistics look promising, and there could be more passionate celebrations from the pair if they keep going as they are.
